TOOR DAL SAMBAR

Ingredients:
  1. toor dal-50g
  2. turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  3. mustard oil(velakennai)-1/4tsp
  4. tomato-1
  5. asafoetida-1/4tsp
  6. large onion-half
  7. garlic-1cloves
  8. ladies finger-6
  9. curry leaves
  10. coriander leaves
  11. sakthi sambar powder-2tsp
  12. red-chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  13. fenugreek seeds-5
  14. cumin seeds-1/4tsp
  15. mustard seeds-1/4tsp
  16. green chilli-1
  17. red-chilli-1
  18. tamarind paste-1tsp
  19. oil
  20. salt


Method:
  • take a cooker drop the toor dal,turmeric powder,mustard oil  add some amount of tomato and water.
  • 3 to 5 whistles.switch off the flame,take a whisk mixing the dal.
  • take a bowl drop the tamarind  paste add some amount of water.mixing the tamarind and water.filter the tamarind water.
  • wash the ladies finger cut into two edges.cut the ladies finger in small or large pieces.any shape u want cut the vegetables.
  • take another tava drop 4tsp of oil .oil comes heat in tava add fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds,mustard seeds,red chilli ,curry leaves,asafoetida and ladies finger.
  • all the vegetables are not frying in oil necessarily.ladies finger must fry in oil.
  • after add onion,garlic and green chilli.onion comes in golden brown add tomato.
  • add all powders, salt and tamarid water.boil 3mins.
  • after mixing the dal and dal water.add some curry leaves and coriander leaves.boil 10mins
  • switch off the flame.take a bowl drop the dal sambar add some curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Serving:
  •  boiled rice, idli, dosa, curd rice
